Angas Plains Estate Quintessential 2012

Quintessential is our first red blend and for many who understand our range of wines will understand, we are very particular about choosing which barrels of wine to blend and bottle under our Special Reserves and Emily Cross label.

The Quintessential blend goes one step further in that, we were of the belief that both our top Shiraz and top Cabernet Sauvignon barrels in 2012 were exquisite. This allowed us to start from a really strong base to put together this special blend.

Angas Plains Estate Quintessential 2012

Description

The Langhorne Creek region is known to produce good Shiraz/ Cabernet Blends and our Quintessential has Cabernet and Shiraz blended together equally by our winemaker Peter Douglas. It is a perfect match and will age gracefully for many years if you can allow yourself to leave them in the cellar long enough.

Alternatively enjoy it now amd keep a few for later. We have only produced 105 dozen of this wine and have numbered each bottle in honour of its true pedigree.

James Halliday scored this 96 points and wrote

“A shiraz cabernet sauvignon blend that has good colour, and a rich bouquet that doesn’t open the seven veils behind which the wine hides; the dance on the palate is slow at first, but gains speed and intensity, revealing more as it does so, but it’s not until the last moments that the exceptional mouth watering array of juicy red and black fruits emerges in all its glory.
