“Youthful, vibrant purple colour. Rich aromas of blackcurrants and plums, oak is toasty, tapenade and choc-mint. The richness carries to the palate – ripe berry fruits, black and blue berries, tannins are open and acidity is in balance. Needs time. Exceptional value 23 FEB 2020″

Angas Plains Estate PJs Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Description

PJ’s Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 Langhorne Creek, South Australia  Viticulture  2016 was a good growing  season which allowed the grapes to ripen early. The  vines had minimal irrigation and the crop levels were low to ensure the vines produced a balanced crop of grapes.                                          Winemaking This wine was made as a  small batch  (10 tonne) with a warm ferment over 8 days, before being pressed off skins into a combination of 100% French Oak barrels. Remaining in oak for 24 months maturation, gaining the layered complexity now evident in the finished wine. Wine The Angas Plains Wines PJs 2016 Cabernet is an elegant expression of the Cabernet varietal. A lovely deep dark wine exhibiting a delightful bouquet of  cassis and herbal characteristics. The tannin has a lovely Langhorne Creek regional softness on the palate. It can be drunk now or cellar-ed for 15 years. Bottling Date: September  2017     Harvest Date: Late March 2016 Sealed with Diam Cork         14% ALC/VOL         PH 3.56   Residual Sugar 0.6g/l
